Adjust Grayscale Intensity or Appearance

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu (typically through your graphics settings or shader control panel, depending on your loader). Look for Velyra Grayscale Shaders in the active shader list.

Modify Grayscale Conversion

Some shader packs offer sliders for:

  • Contrast: Increase to make darks darker and lights lighter, or decrease for a softer, more uniform gray tone
  • Brightness: Adjust overall scene luminosity
  • Saturation removal: Fine-tune how completely color is stripped (some packs allow slight tint retention)

Experiment with these to find your preferred look.

Test Changes In-Game

Apply settings and load into a world. Grayscale appearance changes dramatically based on time of day and lighting conditions. Test in:

  • Bright daylight
  • Underground caves
  • Sunset/sunrise
  • Indoors with torchlight

Reset If Needed

If adjustments make the world too dark or washed out, reset to defaults and make smaller incremental changes. Not all shader options suit every build style—what works for screenshots may differ from what works for building.
