Get Your Entity's UUID in Hexadecimal Format

Using the UUID Function

To convert your entity's UUID into hexadecimal format, you need to run a function while standing as that entity.

Steps

1. Position yourself as the entity whose UUID you want to capture

2. Run the command: /function uuid:_

3. The mod will read your entity's unique identifier and process it

4. Check the output by viewing storage: /data get storage uuid:out plain

The result will display your UUID converted into a clean hexadecimal text string. This output is stored in the uuid:out storage location, making it easy to copy or use in other systems.

Why This Matters

Hexadecimal format is much more compact and readable than Minecraft's standard UUID format. This conversion is especially useful if you're building systems that need to reference entities by ID, track specific mobs, or integrate with data storage systems that work better with hex values.
