Check If Special Characters Display Correctly

Test Specific Character Sets

Different languages and symbols may render differently depending on your resource pack:

  • Accented Latin: Use /function fonttester:show/latin to see characters like á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, ç, and others
  • Greek letters: Use /function fonttester:show/greek for α, β, γ, δ, and the full Greek alphabet
  • Cyrillic script: Use /function fonttester:show/cyrillic for А, Б, В, Г and other Russian/Eastern European characters
  • Symbols and icons: Use /function fonttester:show/symbols for arrows, mathematical signs, and decorative marks

Identify Missing or Broken Characters

If a character appears as a box, question mark, or doesn't render at all, your resource pack doesn't include that glyph. This is common for:

  • Extended accented characters
  • Non-Latin scripts
  • Rare symbols

You can still use these characters in-game, but they won't display as intended. Consider updating your resource pack or using an alternative that includes broader character support.
