Build and Operate a Custom Baking Oven

A functional oven requires Heat-Resistant Slate blocks and Iron Plates. These materials are essential—regular stone won't work.

1. Arrange Heat-Resistant Slate blocks to form your oven chamber (typically a hollow space where dough will bake)

2. Reinforce the structure with Iron Plates where needed for stability

3. Leave an opening at the bottom for firewood access

4. Ensure the oven is properly sealed on top and sides to retain heat

Once built:

1. Place firewood underneath the oven in the access space

2. Light the firewood to heat the oven

3. Watch for the oven to reach the proper temperature

4. Place your shaped dough inside the hot chamber

5. Monitor the baking progress—dough will gradually turn golden brown

6. Remove finished bread when it reaches your desired color

Keep firewood stocked nearby for longer baking sessions. The oven retains heat for a time after the fire dies, so plan accordingly.
