Adjust Cartoon Shading Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (typically accessed through your graphics menu or a dedicated shader settings button). Look for the Toon Shades configuration panel.

Modify Shading Parameters

Locate the cartoon effect intensity slider. This controls how pronounced the retro pixelated look appears on terrain, mobs, and foliage. Lower values create a subtler effect closer to vanilla, while higher values emphasize the bold outlines and flat color blocks characteristic of classic cartoons.

Adjust the pixelation level separately if available—this controls how blocky and stylized individual pixels appear. You can also tweak outline thickness to make edges between colors more or less defined.

Test and Save

Walk around your world and observe how different blocks, water, and mobs render under your new settings. Caves and bright areas may show different effects. Once satisfied, confirm your changes. Settings typically save automatically, but check your shader config file if changes don't persist after restart.
