Where the Numbers Appear

Once PingHUD is installed, open the player list by holding the key that shows the tab overlay. Instead of the vanilla signal bars next to each name, you will now see a number representing that player's ping in milliseconds. The number updates continuously, so you can watch it change as network conditions shift.

Interpreting the Values

Lower numbers mean a better connection. A value in the low tens indicates a very responsive connection, while values climbing into the hundreds suggest noticeable delay. Very high values, especially those that keep rising or jumping around, usually point to an unstable connection. Because the display is numerical rather than a bar graph, you can compare two players side by side and see exactly who has the better connection instead of guessing from bar heights.

Watching for Changes

Keep the player list open during busy moments, such as large fights or when many entities are loaded, and watch how the numbers respond. A player whose ping spikes only during heavy activity may be struggling with their own hardware or connection rather than the server itself. Use this to decide who to check on or which connection to troubleshoot first.
