When to Reset
Reset your compass when you've successfully mined the locked Ancient Debris, or when you want to search for a different target in another area. Resetting forces the compass to scan for the next nearest Ancient Debris block.
Perform the Reset
Hold the compass and right-click. The compass will unlock from its current target and begin searching again. The needle will either lock onto a new nearby Ancient Debris or spin continuously if none are within range.
Cooldown Management
After each reset, there's a five-second cooldown before you can reset again. This prevents accidental repeated resets and gives the compass time to properly scan and lock onto new targets.
Verify the New Target
Once the cooldown ends, check if the needle has locked onto a new Ancient Debris or if it's spinning. A locked needle means a new target is ready—a spinning needle means you need to move to an area with more Ancient Debris nearby.
