Use the Compass to Find Ancient Debris

Activate Search Mode

Hold the Netherite Compass in your hand while in the Nether. The compass searches within a 3×3 chunk radius around your current position. If Ancient Debris exists nearby, the needle will lock onto the nearest block and point steadily in its direction.

Follow the Needle

Walk toward the direction the compass points. The needle maintains its lock on the target, making navigation straightforward. Move closer and the compass confirms you're on the right path by keeping the needle aimed at your goal.

Handle Dimension Warnings

If your locked target is in a different dimension than where you currently stand, the compass will provide a warning. This prevents wasted effort—you'll know immediately if the Ancient Debris is unreachable from your current location.

Reset When Needed

Right-click the compass to unlock your current target and begin searching for a new one. There's a five-second cooldown between resets, so plan your searches accordingly. This is useful when you've already mined a target or want to find different Ancient Debris.
