Speeding Up Obsidian and Hard Block Mining With Multi Mine
Why Hard Blocks Benefit Most
Multi Mine shines on blocks with high hardness, where a single player's mining speed is painfully slow. Obsidian, ancient debris, and deepslate variants are the classic targets. Because the mod pools the mining effort of everyone attacking the same block, a group can chew through these
blocks in a fraction of the solo time.
Practical Workflow
1. Locate the hard block you want to remove (for example, an obsidian wall or a deepslate ore vein).
2. Position your group so every player can reach and see the same block.
3. Have everyone hold their mine input on that block simultaneously.
4. Keep mining until it breaks, then immediately move to the next block together.
Coordinating a Mining Crew
- Assign one player to call out which block to hit next so the group stays synchronized.
- Avoid spreading out; if players drift onto different
blocks, the shared bonus is lost. - Bring appropriate tools — the mod speeds up collective progress but does not replace the need for a pickaxe that can actually harvest the block.
- For very large projects like clearing an obsidian farm area, rotate the whole group block by block rather than each person mining separately.
