Multi Mine Mod FAQ
20 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start mining together with someone in multi mine?
Just have both players break the same block at the same time — the mod detects the shared effort automatically and combines your progress. No tool, keybind, or setup is needed beyond having the mod on both clients.
Does multi mine work if only one player has the mod installed?
No, everyone who wants to contribute to the same block needs the mod, and on a server it must be installed server-side too. If one player lacks it, their hits simply won't register toward the shared progress.
Why is my block progress resetting when my friend joins in?
Progress usually resets when players aren't hitting the exact same block, or when one of you stops mining long enough for the partial progress to time out. Make sure you're both targeting the identical block and keep swinging continuously.
Do I need to be standing next to the other player to share mining progress?
You both need to be able to reach the same block, so you have to be within normal mining range of it. You don't need to touch each other, just the block.
Does multi mine speed up obsidian mining?
Yes — obsidian and other slow, hard blocks are where the mod shines, since each player's contribution stacks onto the same break progress. A group can crack obsidian far faster than one player alone.
Can more than two players mine the same block at once?
Yes, the mod pools effort from any number of players hitting the same block. The more players contributing, the faster the block breaks.
Does multi mine work on servers?
Yes, but the mod must be installed on the server as well as on each participating client. Without the server-side component, shared progress won't sync between players.
Is multi mine compatible with other mining or vein miner mods?
It generally coexists with other mods, but mods that instantly break blocks or alter break speed can conflict with the shared-progress mechanic. If something behaves oddly, test with the other mining mod disabled.
Does multi mine cause lag on a server?
The mod tracks shared break progress per block, so heavy simultaneous mining by many players can add some load, but normal group mining is lightweight. If you see lag, it's usually from other factors rather than this mod alone.
Can I use multi mine to break blocks faster by myself?
No — the mod is built around pooling effort from multiple players, so a single player gains no speed benefit. Its advantage only appears when two or more players hit the same block together.
What does the Multi Mine Mod do?
It lets you pause while breaking a block and come back later without losing your progress. It also lets multiple players mine the same block together for faster speed.
How many blocks does Multi Mine Mod remember?
Up to 30 blocks store their hit data in memory, so you can come back and finish them without starting over.
Does Multi Mine Mod make mining faster with other players?
Yes. A block can be mined twice as fast with two players, three times as fast with three players, and so on.
Does Multi Mine Mod add new items or blocks?
No. It adds no overpowered weapons, armor, items, vehicles, custom monsters, or custom dimensions.
Which Minecraft versions does Multi Mine Mod support?
The Modrinth project page lists 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.8, 1.21.9, and 1.21.10.
Which mod loaders does Multi Mine Mod work with?

Do I need Multi Mine Mod on the client?
