Check the Basics First

If moss still won't grow after installing Moss Fix, the cause is usually not the mod. Verify these before assuming something is broken:

1. Make sure you are using bonemeal on a moss block, not on moss carpet or another block.

2. Confirm there are valid adjacent blocks for the moss to spread onto — moss needs neighboring dirt, stone, or similar blocks.

3. Check that the area isn't fully enclosed with no room for spread.

What the Mod Changes

Moss Fix only removes the restriction caused by blocks above the moss, including transparent blocks like glass and chests. It does not change which blocks moss can spread to, how much bonemeal is consumed, or the overall growth rate. If growth still fails, the obstruction above is probably not the issue.

Quick Fixes

  • Clear a path for spread by removing solid blocks around the moss.
  • Try a fresh moss block in an open spot to confirm the mod is active.
  • Re-test with a single transparent block above the moss to isolate the behavior.

Once you confirm the mod is working, expand your covered moss builds confidently.
