Why Item Models Show Gaps
When Minecraft renders a flat item in 3D, the model is built from thin outer side faces around its edges. These side faces can leave tiny seams or see-through slivers along the outline, which show up as thin
transparent lines tracing a sword, tool, or other flat item as it turns in your hand or inventory.
What Model Gap Fix Does
Model Gap Fix is a lightweight, client-side visual enhancement that removes these gaps, seams, and see-through slivers. It works by subtly adjusting how the outer side faces of generated item models are built, extending them just enough to close the seams. The item's shape, size, and texture are left unchanged.
What to Expect
The effect is automatic and applies to every item, vanilla and modded alike, so you get gap-free rendering everywhere with no configuration. Because it only touches client-side model generation, it stays compatible with resource packs and has no noticeable performance impact.
