Adjust Fog Density and Height Thresholds
Access Shader Settings
Open your shader options menu (usually accessible through the pause menu or video settings, depending on your loader). Look for the Expofog Shaders configuration panel.
Configure Fog Parameters
Locate the fog density slider—this controls how thick the mist appears at any given altitude. Lower values create wispy, transparent fog; higher values produce dense, opaque layers that obscure distant terrain.
Find the height threshold or fog base level setting. This determines the altitude where fog begins to accumulate. Raising this value keeps fog lower in valleys; lowering it pushes mist higher up mountainsides.
Fine-Tune for Your Preference
Adjust the fog falloff or gradient setting to control how quickly density increases as you descend. A steep gradient creates sharp transitions between clear and foggy areas; a gentle gradient produces smoother, more gradual changes.
Test your changes by flying or climbing to different elevations. Visit both deep ravines and high peaks to ensure the fog creates the visual depth you want without obscuring too much of the landscape. Small adjustments often yield the best results.
