Understanding Day-to-Night Transitions and Lighting
How the Shader Handles Time Changes
Lighter Game Shaders automatically shifts sky colors and lighting as Minecraft time progresses. You'll notice:
- Sunrise and sunset: Sky gradually transitions through warm orange and pink tones
- Midday: Bright, neutral white lighting with minimal shadows
- Dusk to night: Sky deepens to blue, then dark purple as stars appear
- Night: Soft atmospheric fog settles in, making distant terrain fade gently
Light Source Behavior
Torches, lanterns, and other light-emitting blocks emit warm, glowing light that feels natural. This warm tone persists through all times of day but becomes more noticeable at night when the ambient sky is darker.
The transitions happen smoothly over several minutes of in-game time, so you won't see sudden color shifts. If transitions feel too fast or slow, some shader settings may allow adjustment, but the default pacing is designed to feel natural and immersive.
