Balance Shader Performance While Keeping Vanilla Aesthetics

Optimize Shader Settings

Lenscraft is designed to maintain vanilla visuals while adding optional effects. If you experience performance drops, you can selectively disable features without losing the mod's core appearance.

1. Open shader settings

2. Identify which effects are active: depth of field, bokeh, anamorphic, and any lighting adjustments

3. Disable the most demanding effect first—typically depth of field or anamorphic mode

4. Test your frame rate in-game

5. Re-enable effects one at a time until you find a balance

6. Reduce intensity values (blur strength, bokeh size, anamorphic intensity) rather than disabling features entirely

Maintaining Visual Quality

The core vanilla lighting remains active even with all effects disabled, so your world won't look broken. For everyday play, disable or minimize camera effects and keep only subtle lighting enhancements. Reserve full effect intensity for screenshots and recording sessions when performance matters less. Adjust render distance and other Minecraft graphics settings independently if needed—shader effects stack on top of your base game settings.
