Understanding Armor Damage Types
Armor in this mod reacts realistically to different damage types. Heavy plate armor excels against slashes but provides less mobility, while lighter armor offers speed at the cost of protection.
Armor Selection by Threat
- Against slash weapons (swords, axes): Wear heavy plate armor for maximum protection
- Against strike weapons (hammers, maces): Plate armor still helps, but consider mobility trade-offs
- Against thrust attacks (pickaxes, spears): Layered armor works better than solid plate
- For mobility: Light leather or chainmail allows faster movement and stamina recovery
Armor Durability and Damage
1. Armor accumulates visible damage—impact marks, dents, and tears appear on your gear
2. Damaged armor provides reduced protection but remains functional
3. Repair armor at an anvil when protection drops significantly
4. Different armor pieces protect specific body parts—head, neck, hands, and joints
Strategic Armor Swapping
Consider carrying multiple armor sets:
- Heavy plate for tough duels
- Light armor for exploration and mobility
- Mixed sets for balanced situations
Match your armor to your opponent's weapon type when possible for optimal defense.
