Understanding Water Rendering
Veyluma NovaMist Shaders renders water with realistic depth and surface detail. If the water appearance doesn't match your preference, you can fine-tune how it looks through shader settings.
Accessing Water Settings
Open the Iris shader options menu (usually by pressing a hotkey in-game, commonly O or through Video Settings). Look for water-related parameters such as:
- Water Fog Distance: Controls how far you can see through water. Increase this value to see deeper into water bodies, or decrease it for a more opaque, mysterious appearance.
- Water Surface Reflections: Toggle or adjust the intensity of reflections on the water surface.
- Caustic Effects: These underwater light patterns can be intensified or reduced depending on your preference.
Testing Your Changes
After adjusting settings, visit a body of water—ocean, river, or lake—to observe the changes in real-time. The matte aesthetic of the shader means water will still maintain a realistic, non-glossy look even with adjustments. If performance drops, reduce water quality settings slightly.
