Locate the Colormap Files

The Fresh Grass Better Colormap Resource Pack stores its color data in colormap files within the resource pack folder. Navigate to .minecraft/resourcepacks/Fresh Grass Better Colormap/assets/minecraft/textures/colormap/. Here you'll find the files that control grass and foliage tones across different biomes.

Edit Biome-Specific Colors

Open the colormap PNG files with an image editor. Each file corresponds to different biome color zones:

  • grass.png — Controls grass block colors
  • foliage.png — Controls tree leaf colors

You can paint over specific areas of these images to adjust how green appears in particular biomes. Warmer biomes like deserts sit on one side of the image, while cooler biomes like taigas occupy another.

Apply and Test

Save your edits and reload your world. The changes take effect immediately without restarting Minecraft. Test in different biomes to ensure your custom colors look natural and consistent with the landscape.
