Stop Combat Logging with Custom Penalties

Combat logging occurs when players disconnect during active fights to avoid defeat. PvP Manager punishes this behavior with customizable consequences.

Setting Punishment Options

1. Open the PvP Manager configuration file

2. Find the combat-logging or disconnect-punishment section

3. Choose your punishment type:

  • Death penalty: Player dies and drops items as if defeated
  • Damage penalty: Player takes damage when reconnecting
  • Cooldown penalty: Player cannot rejoin for a set time
  • Economy penalty: Deduct currency (if using an economy plugin)

4. Set the punishment severity and duration

5. Reload the plugin

Fine-Tuning Detection

Configure how long after combat ends before a disconnect is no longer considered combat logging. This prevents punishing players who disconnect legitimately after a fight ends. You can also exclude certain players or worlds from this rule if needed.

Consider combining multiple punishments for maximum deterrent effect—for example, both a death and a temporary rejoin cooldown.
