Gather the Parts

Tool building uses the tconstruct:tool_building recipe type and the tconstruct:part_builder. You need a tool's component parts before you can assemble it. For a Broad Axe, that means a Broad Axe Head, a Tool Handle, and a Tool Binding. For a Broad Blade weapon you need a Broad Blade plus handle and binding. Parts are made at the Part Builder using patterns, or cast from metal using Gold Casts, Sand Casts, or Red Sand Casts.

Assemble at the Tinker Station

Place your finished head, handle, and binding together in the Tinker Station interface. The station reads the tconstruct:tool_building recipe and outputs the assembled tool. Each part's material determines the tool's stats, so a Broad Axe Head cast from Cobalt behaves differently than one cast from Amethyst Bronze. Once built, the tool can be repaired and modified rather than replaced.

Make More Parts

Use the Part Builder with the matching pattern for each component: Adze Head, Broad Axe Head, Broad Blade, Bow Limb, Bow Grip, Arrow Head, Arrow Shaft, Arrow Fletching, and the armor platings (Boot Plating, Chest Plating). Cast metal parts at a Casting Table using a Gold Cast, or at a Casting Basin for larger pieces. Blank Gold Cast, Blank Sand Cast, and Blank Red Sand Cast are the starting points for creating new casts.
