Using Commands to Query Rules

Rules4Worlds provides custom commands to check and modify rule values without editing files. Use the query command to see the current value of any rule.

Checking a Rule

1. Open the chat window in-game

2. Type the command to query a specific rule by name

3. The current value and rule description will display

4. You can also list all rules in a category to see multiple values at once

Changing a Rule

1. Use the set command followed by the rule name and new value

2. Confirm the change—the rule updates immediately

3. The new value is saved to your JSON configuration file

4. Other players in the world will see the updated rule take effect

Changes apply instantly without requiring a world restart, making it easy to adjust gameplay on the fly. Only players with appropriate permissions can modify rules, keeping settings secure.
