Understanding When Heads Drop
With this mod installed, player heads drop when a player dies, based on the
configured chance for the death category. If you want a specific player's head but do not want to kill them in PvP, you have a few options depending on how the server is
configured.
Options for Obtaining Heads
- Charged creeper kills — if the config allows heads from charged creeper deaths, lure a charged creeper to the target player. The head will drop on death.
- Other deaths — if the "all other deaths" chance is above zero, any death (fall, lava, drowning, mobs) can produce a head.
- Admin commands — server operators can use vanilla commands to give themselves a player head item directly, bypassing the mod entirely. The head item uses the target player's name in its data.
Checking Your Server's Settings
Ask your server admin what the three chance values are set to. If PvP is the only category above zero, then the only way to get a head is through PvP. If other categories are enabled, you can arrange an accidental death. Remember that the drop is chance-based unless the value is set to 1.0, so you may need multiple attempts.
