Crafting the Hooks
ParCool gives you two hook blocks: the
Wooden Zipline Hook and the
Iron Zipline Hook. Both are made with shaped crafting recipes. Gather the base materials first, then open a crafting table and arrange the ingredients in the pattern the recipe book shows for each hook. The Wooden Zipline Hook is the cheaper option to start with; the Iron Zipline Hook is the sturdier upgrade once you have iron to spare.
You also need
Zipline Rope, which comes from a shapeless crafting recipe. Keep a stack of it in your inventory before you head out, because every hook you place will need rope to actually connect.
Placing and Connecting
1. Place a Wooden Zipline Hook or Iron Zipline Hook on a block face at the high point of your route — a cliff edge, a tower top, or a tree platform.
2. Place a second hook at the destination, lower down or across the gap.
3. Use Zipline Rope to link the two hooks together.
4. Approach the rope and ride it to travel between the anchors.
Build your first line short and flat so you can see how the rope behaves, then extend the distance. If a line will not connect, check that both ends have a hook placed and that you have rope left in your inventory. Use the Iron Zipline Hook for long or heavily used routes and save the Wooden Zipline Hook for quick temporary lines.
