Many players pick an origin, dislike it, and want to switch. The mod supports changing your origin, but the method depends on whether you are in singleplayer or on a server.

Using the Orb of Origin Again

In most setups, using an Orb of Origin a second time reopens the selection screen and lets you pick a different origin. This overwrites your current one. If the orb does nothing, the world or server may have origin switching disabled in the configuration.

Server and Command Options

On multiplayer servers, switching is often controlled by the server owner. Common approaches include:

  • An admin running the mod's origin-assignment command on you.
  • A command block or plugin that hands out a fresh Orb of Origin.
  • A configured cooldown or cost so players cannot freely re-roll.

Things to Check Before Switching

1. Confirm you are not relying on your current origin's abilities (for example, water breathing while underwater).

2. Store items that only your current origin can use or reach.

3. Note that some origins change your hitbox or size, which can trap you in tight spaces after switching.

If switching is blocked, ask the server operator — it is usually a config setting, not a bug.
