The base mod ships with a set of origins, but much of its popularity comes from addons and datapacks that introduce new origins, layers, and powers.

What Addons Do

Addons are separate mods or datapacks that register additional origins or modify existing ones. They rely on the base mod being installed and are usually loaded the same way as any other mod or datapack for your loader.

Installing an Origin Datapack

1. Locate your world folder and open the datapacks directory.

2. Drop the addon's .zip or folder into that directory.

3. Run /reload in-game, or leave and re-enter the world.

4. Open the Orb of Origin screen — new origins should appear in the list.

Installing an Addon Mod

Place the addon file in your mods folder alongside the base mod, then restart the game. Addons that add new origin layers (such as a class or a secondary trait) will show extra selection steps when you use the Orb of Origin.

Troubleshooting

  • If new origins do not appear, confirm the addon matches your mod loader and game version.
  • On servers, datapacks and addons must be installed server-side; clients do not need them for most origins.
  • If an origin shows but its powers do nothing, the addon may require a dependency you have not installed.
