How Enchantments Transfer

When you upgrade a diamond tool to netherite using this mod, all enchantments on the original tool automatically carry over to the netherite version. This includes custom enchantments from other mods, making it a safe way to upgrade your best gear.

Before You Upgrade

Check your diamond tool's enchantments by hovering over it in your inventory. Common valuable enchantments include Efficiency, Fortune, Unbreaking, Mending, and Sharpness. If your tool has multiple high-level enchantments, upgrading it to netherite is especially worthwhile since netherite's superior durability will make those enchantments last even longer.

Special Cases

If your diamond tool is at low durability, the netherite version will also start at low durability but with netherite's higher maximum durability. You can repair it afterward using a grindstone or anvil with netherite ingots. This is still more efficient than finding and using an upgrade template, since you only spend one ingot on the upgrade itself.
