Getting the mod to behave consistently across a server or a modpack takes a little setup, because configs can live in different places depending on how the pack is assembled.

Server vs Client Config

The leaf-clearing logic runs where the tree is broken, so the relevant config is the one on the server (or the integrated server in singleplayer). If you are playing on a dedicated server, ask the admin to set the disappearance speed there — changing your client config alone will not affect other players' trees.

Modpack Considerations

  • Many modpacks ship a default config; check the pack's config folder before editing, so your changes are not overwritten on update.
  • If the pack includes other tree-felling or leaf-decay mods, disable the overlapping feature in one of them to avoid double-processing leaves.
  • Confirm that custom trees in the pack use the vanilla leaf block type; if they do not, the mod will skip them.

Testing

After editing, restart the server or reload the world, then chop a test tree in a safe area. Watch how quickly the canopy clears and whether drops appear. Once it behaves as expected, you can leave the config alone — there is no need to re-tune it per session.
