How to Fly with an Iron Jetpack

Equip and take off

Wear the Jetpack in your chest armor slot. With the Jetpack charged, activate it using your mod's flight keybind, then hold the jump key to ascend. Release jump to stop climbing. While the Jetpack is active, you can hover and move horizontally through the air using your normal movement keys.

Flight drains the Jetpack's stored energy continuously. Watch the charge level; when it empties, you will descend. Land safely before the buffer runs out, or swap in a charged Energy Cell to refill mid-flight.

Control your descent

Use your mod's keybinds to toggle the Jetpack on and off and to control vertical movement. Turning the Jetpack off lets you fall normally; turning it back on arrests your descent. Hovering in place still consumes energy, so do not idle in the air longer than needed.

Higher-tier Jetpacks — those built with Advanced Coil, Elite Coil, or Ultimate Coil — provide stronger thrust and larger energy buffers than the Basic Coil version, letting you climb faster and stay airborne longer. If you want more airtime, upgrade the Coil, Capacitor, and Energy Cell together and craft the higher-tier Jetpack.
