Lay the cable

Craft Logic Cable and place it between the blocks you want to read from or write to. Cable carries variable values between parts. Use a Wrench to rotate or disconnect cable connections.

Add parts

Attach reader and writer parts to the cable where it touches a target block or entity. Available parts include Part Block Reader, Part Entity Reader, Part Fluid Reader, Part Inventory Reader, Part Inventory Writer, Part Machine Reader, Part Machine Writer, Part Network Reader, Part Redstone Reader, Part Redstone Writer, Part World Reader, Part Extradimensional Reader, Part Audio Reader, Part Audio Writer, Part Effect Writer, Part Display Panel, Part Static Light Panel, Part Dynamic Light Panel, Part Connector Mono Directional, and Part Enhancement: Offset.

Program with Variable Cards

Craft Variable Cards and a Logic Programmer. Open the Logic Programmer, place a Variable Card in it, and define the value or operation you want. Insert the programmed card into a part on the cable. The part now reads or writes according to the card.

Store and direct

Use Variable Store to hold variables persistently. Use Logic Director to route logic between cables. Use Proxy to expose a variable from one network to another. Use Input Variable Transformer and Output Variable Transformer to convert between network and external values. Use Delayer to introduce a delay in a signal.

Portable option

Carry a Portable Logic Programmer to program Variable Cards away from your base.
