Accessing Configuration Options
Guard Villagers offers several customizable settings to control how your village defense works. Access the mod's configuration file or in-game settings menu to adjust:
- Detection distance — how far away guards and the town can sense incoming enemies
- Bell requirement — toggle whether a bell is necessary for villagers to transform into guards
- Guard limit — set a maximum number of armed guards allowed in one location at a time
- Spawn cooldown — adjust the time between consecutive guard spawns
Choosing Your Defense Strategy
Decide whether you want the mod to convert existing villagers into guards or spawn entirely new guards from nothing. If you prefer to keep your original villagers safe, enable guard spawning instead of conversion.
Controlling Which Villagers Fight
You can specify exactly which villager types are eligible to become guards. This lets you protect your farmers, librarians, or other valuable professions while allowing nitwits and unemployed villagers to take up arms first.
