Using the Whitelist
Instead of blacklisting, you can use a whitelist to make *only* specific blocks fade. This is useful if you want the effect on just a few block types.
Steps
1. Open the Block Dithering Mod settings menu
2. Navigate to the Whitelist section
3. Add the blocks you want to fade using:
- Exact ID:
minecraft:stone— only stone fades - Block tags:
#minecraft:logs— only logs fade - Wildcards:
minecraft:*ore*— all ore blocks fade
4. Confirm each entry; settings update instantly
5. Test by walking near a whitelisted block—it should fade; non-whitelisted blocks should remain solid
Tips
- Whitelist is most effective when you want the effect on a small, defined set of blocks
- Combine multiple entries to build your custom fade list
- If both whitelist and blacklist contain the same block, blacklist takes priority
- Leave whitelist empty to apply fading to all blocks (default behavior)
