This data pack ensures that the new wolf types from Vanilla Backport appear when you explore Biomes O' Plenty. Different wolf variants now have biome-specific spawning rules, so you'll encounter different colors and patterns depending on where you travel.

Finding Wolves by Biome Type

Wolves spawn in forest-like and temperate biomes within Biomes O' Plenty. Explore varied terrain types—dense forests, grasslands, and cooler regions—to encounter different wolf variants. Each modded biome type may favor certain wolf colors, so traveling between distinct biome regions increases variety.

Taming and Breeding

Once you find a wolf variant you like, tame it with bones as normal. Tamed wolves retain their variant appearance and can be bred together. Breeding two different variants may produce offspring with mixed characteristics, allowing you to create custom wolf packs.

If you're not seeing wolf variants spawning, check that the data pack is enabled and that you're in an appropriate Biomes O' Plenty biome—wolves won't spawn in ocean or extreme terrain types.
