Exploring the Ocean

Hybrid Aquatic expands Minecraft's oceans with new aquatic wildlife and ocean-themed building options. You'll encounter fish, jellyfish, and sharks while exploring, alongside coral blocks, rafts, crates, and fishing gear.

Start by crafting a raft from wood — acacia and birch variants exist — to travel across water more comfortably. Crates in matching wood types give you storage that fits the nautical theme. When fishing, note that the mod adds its own gear, including a Barbed Hook, which changes how you catch aquatic mobs.

Coral comes in several varieties: bamboo, brain, and bubble coral each have block and fan forms, plus bleached versions. Aerated Sand and Barnacle Shorestone help you build convincing reef environments. Anemones and Bell Buoys round out the decorative set.

Many creatures here are passive or neutral, but sharks like the Basking Shark and Bull Shark deserve caution. Spawn eggs exist for most mobs if you want to populate an aquarium or reef build directly.
