Monitor Your Radiation Level

Use a dosimeter or Geiger counter to track how much radiation you've absorbed. High radiation causes negative effects like hunger, weakness, and eventually death. Check your level regularly, especially after handling radioactive materials or exploring contaminated areas.

Reduce Radiation Through Time and Distance

Radiation naturally decays over time. Move away from radioactive sources and stay in clean areas to let your body recover. The further you are from contaminated zones, the faster your radiation level drops. Avoid re-entering dangerous areas until you're safe.

Use Protective Equipment

Wear radiation-resistant armor or full protective suits to reduce absorption rates. These items don't prevent radiation entirely, but they significantly slow how quickly you accumulate it. Upgrade to better armor as you progress.

Manage Environmental Contamination

When radiation spreads across the landscape, grass and leaves transform into dead blocks. Contain explosions and radioactive leaks by building in isolated areas away from your base. If an area becomes too contaminated, consider abandoning it or using the /hbm_m rad command to manage levels if needed.
