Set Up Your First Power Generator

Gather Wood and Build a Wood Burner

Your earliest power source is a wood-burning generator. Collect wood from trees and craft or find the wood burner block. Place it in your factory area and insert wood fuel into it. The burner will begin producing energy that flows through cables to power your machines.

Connect Cables and Store Power

Craft power cables and run them from your wood burner to a battery or energy storage block. Connect your first multiblock machines—like a press or assembly machine—to this cable network. As long as your burner has wood, energy will flow to all connected devices.

Upgrade When Ready

Wood burners are only a starting point. As you progress, you'll unlock better generators that produce more power. For now, keep feeding your burner wood and monitor your energy grid to ensure machines have enough power to operate. If machines stop working, check that cables are properly connected and your burner still has fuel.
