Starting the Experience

From The Fog is a horror mod built around a single entity: Herobrine. Once installed, the mod works passively — you do not need to activate it manually. Simply load a world and play normally, and the atmosphere will begin to shift around you.

Herobrine stalks players through fog, so expect reduced visibility and distant figures at the edges of your view. He also builds eerie structures and triggers unsettling events as you explore. These occurrences are tied to your world and progress rather than to any button or menu.

If you want to control how often events happen or how intense they are, the mod provides configuration options. Commands are also available for summoning Herobrine directly or triggering events on demand, which is useful for testing or for players who want to jump straight into the scares.

Play as you normally would — mining, building, exploring — and let the fog do the rest.
