Before you can brew anything, you need a reliable tea leaf supply. Farmer's Respite treats tea as a proper crop, so it fits neatly into your existing farm layout.
Planting Tea
Obtain tea seeds from grass drops, village chests, or by crafting them if your version supports it. Plant them on farmland like any other crop. Tea plants grow through several stages and prefer normal light levels, so a standard open farm works fine. Bone meal speeds them along if you are impatient.
Harvesting
Once fully grown, break or right-click the tea plant to harvest leaves. Many versions let the plant regrow after harvest rather than requiring replanting, similar to how Farmer's Delight handles some crops. Check whether your plant reverts to a younger stage or disappears entirely, and replant if needed.
Scaling Up
- Use a hoe with Fortune or a similar enchant to boost yields if your version allows it.
- Plant in rows near water for fast growth.
- Combine tea with other Farmer's Respite crops in the same field to save space.
- Store excess leaves in a chest near your kettle so brewing is quick.
A modest plot of tea plants will keep your kettle running constantly, and surplus leaves are useful for trading or gifting to other players on servers.
