Understanding Familiar Abilities and Passive Skills
Types of Familiar Abilities
Each familiar provides unique benefits beyond simply following you. These fall into two categories: passive abilities that work automatically, and active abilities triggered during combat or specific situations.
Passive Abilities
Passive abilities activate without player input:
- Healing: Some familiars restore your health over time or when you take damage
- Damage Reduction: Certain familiars reduce incoming damage
- Resource Generation: Some familiars provide materials or buffs while active
- Detection: Familiars may warn you of nearby threats or highlight valuable resources
Active Abilities
Active abilities trigger during combat:
- Mob Defense: Familiars attack hostile mobs that approach you
- Buffs: Some grant temporary status effects during fights
- Crowd Control: Certain familiars slow or distract enemies
Choosing the Right Familiar
Consider your current situation when selecting a familiar. Healing familiars suit dangerous exploration, while combat-focused familiars help during mob fights. Experiment with different familiars to discover which abilities complement your playstyle and current challenges.
