Managing Multiple Familiar Packs and Compatibility

Understanding Familiar Packs

The Familiars Mod is designed as an API, allowing multiple content packs to coexist. Different packs add themed familiar sets—some include default Minecraft mobs, others feature custom creatures or themed collections.

Installing Multiple Packs

1. Download the Familiars API (required for all installations)

2. Download individual familiar packs you want to use

3. Place all files in your mods folder

4. Launch Minecraft—packs will load alongside each other

5. All familiars from installed packs appear in your familiar menu

Pack Organization

Familiars from different packs coexist in the same unlock system. You'll see all available familiars mixed together in your inventory and familiar selection screen, regardless of which pack they come from.

Potential Conflicts

If you experience issues with multiple packs:

  • Ensure you have the correct Familiars API version for your Minecraft version
  • Check that all packs are compatible with your Minecraft version
  • Remove packs one at a time to identify conflicts
  • Consult pack documentation for known incompatibilities

Most packs are designed to work together without problems, but compatibility depends on proper installation.
