What the Mod Changes

Enhanced Block Entities is a performance and customization mod that targets block entities. In vanilla Minecraft, many blocks that store extra data — such as chests, signs, banners, beds, and shulker boxes — are rendered through their block entity rather than as a standard block model. This rendering path is heavier than normal block rendering and can cost frames when many such blocks are visible at once.

This mod reworks that rendering so those blocks are drawn more efficiently, which improves FPS in areas dense with block entities. Because the change is about how blocks are drawn rather than what they do, the blocks themselves still behave normally.

The second half of the mod is customization: the new rendering is exposed to resource packs, so pack authors can define how these blocks look. That means the appearance of supported block entities can be changed through a pack instead of being locked to the vanilla renderer.

If you only want the FPS benefit, no configuration is required.
