Deeper and Darker adds several hostile mobs tied to the sculk theme. Sculk Centipede, Sculk Leech, Sculk Snapper, Shriek Worm, Stalker, Shattered, and Sludge all spawn in the mod's deeper areas. Angler Fish is both a mob and a food source — it drops raw and Cooked Angler Fish.

The mod includes a potion-like system built around spawn eggs: Anger Pot, Fear Pot, and Sorrow Pot.
