Basic Signal Linking
Railway signals work by linking to the Create mod's base train signals. This connection tells your signal when to change color based on track occupancy ahead.
Steps:
1. Place a Create mod train signal on your track
2. Place your Create Realistic Railways signal nearby, facing the direction trains will approach
3. Hold a stick in your hand (do not use the wrench)
4. Right-click the Create base signal first
5. Right-click your railway signal to complete the link
Configuring 3-Aspect Signals
For 3-aspect signals that show green, yellow, and red:
1. Link the immediate track block first (the section directly ahead)
2. Link the following block second (the section after that)
This two-step configuration allows the signal to warn drivers of conditions further down the line, giving them time to slow down before reaching a red signal.
Tip: Use banner repeaters placed before your main signal to give drivers even earlier warnings on longer track sections.
