Installing Level Crossing Barriers

Level crossings protect players and mobs from train collisions by automatically lowering barriers when trains approach.

Steps:

1. Place your train track crossing a road or path

2. Position the level crossing barrier blocks on both sides of the road, perpendicular to traffic flow

3. The barriers will automatically detect approaching trains

4. When a train nears the crossing, the half-barriers lower to block passage

5. Barriers raise again once the train passes

Adding Crossing Alarms

To warn players of approaching trains:

1. Place a crossing alarm block near the level crossing

2. Link it to your train signal using the stick method (hold stick, right-click signal, right-click alarm)

3. The alarm will sound when trains approach the intersection

4. You can customize the alarm sound through the mod's configuration

Placement tip: Position alarms where players can hear them clearly—near the road approach or at eye level on a pole.
