Create Early Warning Systems with Banner Repeaters

What Banner Repeaters Do

Banner repeaters display signal status ahead of your main signal, giving train drivers advance warning of upcoming red or yellow signals. They use banner designs to show the signal state visually.

Steps:

1. Place a banner repeater on a pole or structure several blocks before your main railway signal

2. Link it to the same train signal as your main signal using the stick method

3. The repeater will mirror the signal's color state (green, yellow, or red)

4. Drivers see the warning banner before reaching the actual signal

Positioning for Maximum Visibility

1. Place repeaters at driver eye level (around 2-3 blocks high)

2. Position them on the side of the track drivers approach from

3. Space multiple repeaters along long straight sections for redundant warnings

4. Use signal nameplates below repeaters to label track sections

Best practice: On passenger lines, place repeaters at regular intervals so drivers always have a visible warning before the next signal. This prevents sudden stops and creates realistic train operation.
