Wall clocks hang on a wall and show the real in-game time, with the hour and minute hands moving through the day.
Grandfather clocks are three blocks tall and are placed as a single piece. The face shows the time in the same way, and a pendulum swings behind the glass door in the case below it, ticking as it passes the centre. At midnight the clock strikes, and the ominous variant plays a different sound. Clocks placed in the Nether behave oddly on purpose, with the hands drifting rather than keeping time.
The
telescope is used at night: right-click it and it reports the current moon phase along with a short note about it. Using it during the day tells the player to come back after dark.
