Getting Started with Chipped

Tools and Workstations

Chipped is built around a small set of tools that let you convert one decorative block into another. The Chisel is the core tool: use it on a supported block to cycle through or select its available variants. The Multimeter helps you inspect what a block can become, and the Saw handles wood-based conversions such as planks, panels, and shavings. Needles and the Watering Can round out the toolkit for their respective block families.

The Alchemy Bench and Alchemy Book tie the system together. The bench is where you work through conversions, and the book records the variants you have unlocked, so you can track your progress as you explore the full catalogue.

Because the mod adds thousands of variants, the practical approach is to pick a base block you already use — planks, stone, glass, torches — and chisel it into the style you want. Barrels, crates, bookshelves, and torches all have themed families, so a single material can supply an entire build's detailing.
