1. Finding Flint

Your first goal is to find Gravel. It is commonly found in cave entrances, underwater, or on cliff faces. You can craft 4 gravel blocks into 1 piece of Flint. You will need at least 4 pieces of flint to begin your journey.

2. The Flint Knife

The Flint Knife is your most essential early-game tool. It is crafted in your 2x2 inventory grid using two pieces of flint placed diagonally.

Uses for the Knife:

  • Whittling: Combine a Knife with a Sapling to create Sticks
  • Skinning: Combine a Knife with Leather to create Leather Strips
  • Bone Processing: Combine a Knife with a Bone to create Bone Shards
  • Harvesting: Functions like shears for grass and vines (vines can be whittled into Twine)
  • Combat: Deals damage comparable to a vanilla axe

3. The Flint Hatchet

Once you have sticks and leather strips, you can craft a Flint Hatchet. This is the first tool capable of harvesting wood logs without damaging the player.

4. The Advanced Crafting Table

To progress beyond flint, you must create two vanilla-style crafting tables. When placed side-by-side, they merge into the Advanced Crafting Table. This block is required for almost all tool and armor recipes. If a recipe requires this table but is placed in a standard one, a red 'X' will appear over the output arrow.
