Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Systems
Checking Current Performance Impact
Bad PC Shaders is designed for weak hardware, but you can fine-tune further. Monitor your frame rate using F3 debug screen or your launcher's FPS counter while making adjustments.
Disabling Specific Features
If you experience frame drops, selectively disable features through the shader config: water glare, foliage sway, and moonlight effects can each be toggled independently. Start by disabling the most visually intensive feature and test frame rates.
Reducing Quality Tiers
Many settings include quality presets—low, medium, high. Switch to lower presets if needed. Water reflections and sky gradients often have reduced-quality versions that maintain the visual style while cutting processing demands.
Verifying Compatibility
Ensure your GPU drivers are current and no conflicting mods or shaders are active. Bad PC Shaders works best as a standalone shader pack without competing visual mods.
