Wearing an Image as Your Cape

Advanced Capes is a client-focused mod that lets you wear any image from the web as a custom cape. Because it runs on your client, you can see your own cape without needing it to be approved or uploaded anywhere.

To begin, open the Configure Cape screen. This is where you point the mod at an image hosted online. Paste the direct URL to the image you want to use, then apply it. The mod fetches the image and renders it as your cape.

The image must meet the mod's requirements to display correctly, so check the image requirements section if your cape does not appear. Static images work as a single cape texture, while animated capes use an animated image format to cycle through frames.

Once configured, your cape shows on your player. In multiplayer, other players only see it if they also have the mod and syncing is enabled, since capes are handled client-side rather than by the server.
