Choosing the Right Area and Radius to Pre-Generate

Think About Where You Actually Travel

Pre-generating the entire world is rarely worth it. Instead, pick the region you realistically explore: your base, the routes between your farms and mines, and any biome you visit often. A radius that covers your normal play area is usually enough to remove most exploration lag.

Setting Size and Center

In the mod's pre-generation setup, you choose a center point (often your current position or a set of coordinates) and a size for the area. A larger radius means more chunks and a longer run; a smaller radius finishes faster but may leave the edges of your travel range ungenerated. Start with a modest area around your main base, let it finish, then expand outward if you still notice lag when exploring.

Remember that the area is measured in chunks, not blocks, so a radius that sounds small can still cover a lot of ground. If you are unsure, run a smaller batch first and check performance in-game before committing to a bigger one. You can always run the generator again later to extend coverage — previously generated chunks are skipped or handled quickly.
